Fees

Flat fees, in writing, before we start

Every job has one price. You see it in the engagement letter before we lift a finger, and it doesn’t change if the work takes us longer.

  • Name it

For a new business name, product name or logo. The fee follows how many classes of goods and services the mark covers.

    • Search and written opinion

    • Application filed

    • Routine letters until registration

    Start with a call
  • Launch kit

A name, its logo and the copyright papers from your designer, quoted as one fee for the launch.

    • Trademark search and application

    • Logo copyright assignment

    • One copyright registration

    Start with a call
  • Hold my place

A provisional patent application before you show the invention. One fee per invention.

    • Drafting call and review

    • Provisional application filed

    • Reminder before the year runs out

    Start with a call

Government filing fees are extra and passed on at cost. We tell you the amount before we file. A substantive office action, extra classes and the full patent application are quoted on their own.

Paying us

Paying a flat fee, step by step

What does the first call cost?

Nothing. It’s twenty minutes on video, and you leave with a written quote if there’s work to do.

When do I pay?

Half when you sign the engagement letter, half when we file. For licensing, all of it when we send the draft or the marked-up copy.

What isn’t covered by a flat fee?

Anything the letter doesn’t list. If something new comes up, like a refusal on the merits or a dispute, we quote it before we start on it.

Why charge flat fees at all?

Because founders budget. You shouldn’t have to wonder whether an email to us costs money.
